Dr. Elizabeth Baber, Principal
Dr. Elizabeth Baber holds a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry, a Master’s in Teaching, a Certificate in Education Leadership, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before being named Principal of Matoaca High School in 2020, she served as a teacher of Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology; the Specialty Center Coordinator for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program; Dean of Students; and Associate Principal at Midlothian and Monacan High Schools within Chesterfield County.

Roscoe Johnson III, Associate Principal
Mr. Roscoe Johnson III earned a B.S. in History and Secondary Education from Eastern Mennonite University and a Special Education endorsement from James Madison University. He later completed an M.A. in Administration and Supervision at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). With more than two decades of teaching experience in Civics, World Geography, Government, and Special Education, Mr. Johnson has also served as an Administrative Intern and Dean of Students at Short Pump Middle School, Assistant Principal at Clover Hill High School, and Associate Principal at Meadowbrook High School before joining Matoaca High School.

Dr. Scott Birmingham, Assistant Principal
Dr. Scott Birmingham graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in French (Business Option/Minor). He went on to earn a Master’s in Teaching Foreign Language from the University of Virginia, while also pursuing advanced graduate studies in Spanish. Before moving into administration, Dr. Birmingham taught French and Spanish for seven years and served as Chesterfield County’s Instructional Specialist and Supervisor for World Languages.

Danielle Mayo, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Danielle Mayo earned her B.S. in Mathematics from James Madison University and her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. She taught mathematics in Richmond City Public Schools and Henrico County Public Schools before transitioning to leadership roles. Prior to becoming Assistant Principal at Matoaca High School, Mrs. Mayo served as Dean of Students at Midlothian High School.

Nichole Fowler, Dean of Students
Mrs. Nichole Fowler, a Brooklyn, New York native, earned her B.S. in Mathematics from Virginia State University and later completed an M.Ed. in Secondary Education at Grand Canyon University. Her career began at Monacan High School in Chesterfield County, where she taught for eight years before joining Matoaca High School. Over the course of fourteen years at Matoaca, Mrs. Fowler taught mathematics and eventually moved into school leadership as Dean of Students.
