Psychologists
School Psychologists
School psychologists play an essential role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
They work collaboratively with educators, families, and community professionals to create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where students can thrive.
Through consultation, assessment, and intervention, school psychologists help identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to improve student success. Their work focuses on promoting:
Academic achievement
Positive behavior and emotional regulation
Mental health awareness and support
Healthy peer and family relationships
School psychologists also assist in designing and implementing interventions, crisis response plans, and individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the diverse needs of students across Chesterfield County Public Schools.
Community Counseling Agencies and Family Resources
Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) provides families with an open-access list of both public and private mental health and counseling service providers in the local community.
This list is intended as a referral resource to help families connect with additional support when needed.
Please note:
Inclusion on the CCPS list does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of any provider.
Listing does not confirm qualifications, experience, or service quality of individual professionals.
All financial arrangements are solely between the family and the provider.
CCPS is not responsible or liable for any services, costs, or outcomes resulting from contact with listed providers.
Families are encouraged to carefully review options and consult directly with providers to determine the best fit for their child’s needs.
