Initial Chromebook Log-In

Step 1: Press the power key (top-right corner) to turn on your Chromebook.
Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi click the Wi-Fi icon in the bottom-right corner and select a network.
Step 3: On the login screen (with the red RapidIdentity banner), enter your student ID number.
Step 4: Enter your password. If you don’t know it, contact your teacher for a reset.
Note: First-time users must accept Google’s Terms of Service. Use the down arrow to find the Accept button.

Fixing Connection Issues

Can’t access my.ccpsnet.net?

  1. Make sure you’re connected to the internet.

  2. Type my.ccpsnet.net directly — avoid bookmarks or shortcuts.

  3. Clear your browser cache:

    • Open Chrome → Click the three dots (top-right).

    • Select More Tools → Clear Browsing Data.

    • Choose All time, check all boxes, then click Clear data.

Forgot or Changing Passwords

Your username is your student ID (found in ParentVUE or on report cards).

  • Any teacher can reset your password.

  • If you can’t reach a teacher, call the Tech Helpdesk at 804-639-8933.

To change your password manually:

  1. Visit my.ccpsnet.net on any computer.

  2. Log in → click Profiles → Change Password → follow the prompts.

Clearing Profiles

To remove another user’s account from your Chromebook:

  1. On the sign-in screen, select the profile.

  2. Click the down arrow next to the name.

  3. Select Remove this user → confirm removal.

Accessing Canvas

Parents and guardians can monitor student progress through Canvas via web or mobile app.

Tip: The desktop browser offers a fuller experience than the mobile app.

To access the Canvas Parent App (iOS):

  1. Download Canvas Parent from the App Store.

  2. Open the app → click Find My School.

  3. Search Chesterfield County Public Schools – Parent → select.

Note: Grades shown in Canvas are unofficial. Synergy remains the official grading source.

Accessing Learning Applications

Applications vary by grade level.

  1. Open Chrome → go to my.ccpsnet.net.

  2. Enter Student ID as username and your password.

  3. Wait up to 10 seconds for the dashboard to load.

  4. Click the Backpack icon to access:

    • Dreambox Learning

    • Lexia (Rosetta Stone)

    • Mastery Connect

    • MyOn

    • Newsela

    • Scholastic

Discounted Home Internet

Families may qualify for low-cost home internet:

  • Comcast/Xfinity Internet Essentials: $15 per month

  • Verizon Forward: $20 per month

Visit their respective websites to check eligibility.

Obtaining Chargers
  • Each student receives a charger with their Chromebook.

  • Damaged or defective chargers can be replaced through the Tech Helpdesk.

  • Lost or stolen chargers must be replaced by the student.

    • Any 65-watt USB-C charger works (available online or in electronics stores).

To receive a Chromebook, families must acknowledge the Chromebook Use Agreement each school year through ParentVUE.
