Volunteer
Important Links and Forms
There are countless ways to make a meaningful impact in Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS). We invite you to share your time, skills, and passion whether as an individual, through your organization, or by making a contribution. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our schools, supporting student wellbeing, advancing literacy, encouraging classroom innovation, and helping us develop life-ready graduates.
Together, we make education stronger because we are always better together.
How It Works
Chesterfield schools offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities, both in-person and virtual, to suit every schedule and interest.
Most volunteer roles require an application, which includes a centralized background check process for safety and compliance. Please allow two to four weeks for your application to be reviewed before planning your first volunteer activity.
You must complete a volunteer application if you plan to:
- Chaperone a field trip
- Advise a club, team, or
- student organization
- Participate in mentoring or leadership programs
- Work directly with students without staff supervision
You must complete a volunteer application if you plan to:
- Visiting for lunch
- Helping in the library or office
- A college student in classrooms for program credit
- 18 & under
- A supervised classroom helper such as a room mom, assisting with a class party, etc.
Please note: The volunteer application platform works best on a desktop computer.
Some mobile devices may not display the screen correctly.
